Backun Beta Wooden Clarinet
The Backun Beta Clarinet is designed for intermediate players ready to move to their first wooden clarinet. Made from premium, naturally aged unstained grenadilla wood, Backun says it uses the same grade of wood found in its professional and custom clarinets.
Rich Sound and Comfortable Response
The Beta combines the tonal qualities of grenadilla with a comfortable resistance and responsive feel designed for the advancing player. Its poly-cylindrical bore helps provide an even, controlled playing experience as students develop greater tonal flexibility, projection and musical expression.
Built for the Progressing Player
The Beta features drop-forged, hardened keywork, available with nickel or silver plating, together with custom black leather pads and an adjustable thumb rest with neck-strap ring. Its ergonomic keywork is designed to make the transition from a student clarinet comfortable and familiar.
For a developing musician, the Beta offers an attractive combination of grenadilla wood, quality keywork, comfortable resistance and Backun acoustic design without immediately moving into a professional-level instrument.
Compare Before You Choose
Every wooden clarinet has its own character. At Tempest Music, we recommend play-testing the Backun Beta alongside other wooden clarinets within your budget. Compare the tone, response, resistance and feel rather than choosing from specifications alone.
Through a guided comparison, it can become surprisingly clear which clarinet allows you to produce the sound you are looking for most easily.
Visit Tempest Music in Como, Perth to play-test the Backun Beta and compare it with our range of intermediate wooden clarinets. Flexible payment and purchase options are available.
