French Horns Perth

Discover Your Sound at Tempest Music

Choosing a French horn is an important decision for any musician. Whether you’re purchasing your first instrument, progressing beyond a school horn or preparing for advanced or university study, the right French horn should offer the response, tonal quality and playing comfort you need to develop your own individual sound.

At Tempest Music, we offer an extensive selection of French horns from respected makers including Alexander, Eastman, Hans Hoyer, Paxman, Schagerl and Yamaha. Our range includes instruments suitable for younger students, advancing players and experienced musicians seeking a professional instrument.

Finding the Right French Horn

French horns vary considerably in their design, resistance, response and tonal characteristics. Even two instruments of the same model can feel and sound different.

As players develop, these differences become increasingly important. An instrument that responds naturally, offers secure intonation and allows the player to produce their preferred sound can make a significant difference to their musical progress.

Our experienced brass specialist can help you explore these differences, compare suitable instruments and find the French horn that works best for you.

From Student to Professional French Horns

For younger players, comfort and correct instrument sizing are particularly important. Compact French horns can provide a more manageable starting point, while full double horns offer developing musicians greater flexibility as their technique advances.

For students leaving school, purchasing their own French horn is often an important step towards independent playing, orchestral involvement and further musical study.

More advanced players may be looking for greater tonal flexibility, projection, precision and control. Our selection provides the opportunity to compare instruments with different playing characteristics rather than choosing solely from specifications or recommendations.

Professionally Prepared and Supported

At Tempest Music, our French horns are carefully prepared by warranty-authorised technicians to ensure they perform at their best.

We understand that purchasing a quality French horn is a significant investment. That’s why we offer rental, rent-to-buy and flexible payment options on eligible instruments, helping families and advancing musicians choose the right instrument with greater confidence.

Our team will be happy to explain the available options and help you find an arrangement that suits your needs.
