Boots and Saddle is a simple arrangement in D major of a joyful, fiddle-style tune. All parts take a turn at playing the melody. An optional extension violin part doubles the 1st violin with some transposition up the octave. This extension part gives advancing students an opportunity to play in 3rd position. The 2nd Violin and Viola sections are in unison throughout. Tempo may be tailored to suit the ensemble standard.
