With My Swag was written in April 1988 and performed as the overture to the Australian Bicentennial Military Tattoo which toured in 9 major cities from August to December 1988. The composition is based on the Australia folk tune “With my swag all on my shoulder”. The tune itself has origins in Ireland and America before its apparent migration to Australia. This setting has a lively rhythmic opening, a rich melodic middle with a fast and exciting finish. Enjoy!
