Backun Q Series Bass Clarinet – Grenadilla

The Backun Q Series Low C Bass Clarinet combines traditional grenadilla construction with Backun’s modern approach to bass clarinet design. It is designed for advanced players seeking a rich, resonant sound, excellent projection and a responsive, comfortable playing experience.

Made from premium grenadilla wood, the Q Series produces excellent tonal depth and warmth while maintaining clarity and focus throughout the instrument’s range.

Backun has incorporated a number of thoughtful design innovations into the Q Series, including refined bore and tone-hole design, modern ergonomic keywork and improved venting and acoustics. These features are designed to improve response, intonation and stability while making the instrument feel more natural under the fingers.

The extended range to low C provides the versatility required for advanced orchestral, concert band, chamber and contemporary repertoire. Its even response makes transitions between registers easier, while the silver-plated keywork provides a precise and comfortable playing feel.

The Q Series offers the projection needed in larger ensembles while retaining the warmth, flexibility and control required for solo and exposed playing.

An excellent choice for advanced students, university players and professional musicians looking for a modern Low C bass clarinet with the tonal qualities of grenadilla and Backun’s innovative approach to instrument design.
