Backun Q Series Bass Clarinet – Cocobolo

The Backun Q Series Low C Bass Clarinet in Cocobolo combines Backun’s innovative design with the distinctive tonal qualities and beautiful appearance of cocobolo wood. It is designed for advanced players seeking excellent projection, tonal depth, flexibility and response.

The cocobolo body produces a rich, colourful sound with excellent resonance and clarity. Silver-plated keywork with distinctive gold posts complements the natural cocobolo finish and gives this instrument a particularly striking appearance.

Backun incorporates modern innovations throughout the Q Series, including refined bore and tone-hole design, ergonomic keywork and carefully developed acoustics and venting. These features contribute to an even response, secure intonation and greater control throughout the registers.

The extended range to low C provides the versatility required for orchestral, concert band, chamber and contemporary repertoire, while the responsive keywork supports comfortable and precise technical playing.

Every bass clarinet has its own character, and an instrument of this level should be experienced rather than chosen from specifications alone.
