A gauze cloth, used in conjunction with a cleaning rod, is a classic and effective tool for cleaning the inside of a flute.
The process is straightforward. You thread a corner of the gauze through the eye of a cleaning rod, wrap the rest of the cloth around the rod to cover the tip, and then gently insert it into each section of the flute. A slight twisting motion helps the cloth to absorb moisture from the inner walls.
