Amongst other things, Debussy often found his inspiration in mysticism and exotic bric-a-brac. In “Funeral Urn” the elements of the Gregorian chant are ingeniously combined with Eastern influences. “The Girl with the Flaxen Hair” is one of Debussy’s most poignant pieces. Students will enjoy the differnet harmonic language and the rhythmic challenges in these works.
